A Goon
No Jewel, your father did not shed his blood so that everybody would be forced to call you by title. Nor did he do it so that a pompus self-serving know-it-all gaje could try to warp your mind by manipulating your feelings towards your father, although I suppose its to be expected from certain types...

If you're just gonna run a desktop client to do normal stuff, buy WordPerfect 2000 for Linux - it comes with Corel Linux, which is *really* good for a 1.0.

You *could* use RedHat, but you're in for a buttload of pain if you don't want Gnome installed. Mandrake is only good if you like it right away - if you dislike it after 15 minutes, get rid of it.

Debian is good, but only if you get the CDs. It's got everything under the sun and then some.

If you actually want to get dirty, use Slackware. You have to do everything manually, which is great if you actually want to learn something.

Is it not nifty? Sluggy Freelance. Worship the comic.

-I installed RedHat originally because the 'install from network' disk image worked. - Tridus - 2000-05-16 00:00:00
-I'd go with Mandrake 7 if I were you... it's a good 'beginner' version of Linux. - /Dev/Null - 2000-05-16 00:00:00
