A Goon
The PROPER way to handle HTML postings is to cancel the article, then hire a hitman to kill the poster, his wife and kids, and fuck his dog and smash his computer into little bits. Anything more is just extremism.

blah, you know what the problem with this stuff is? [random rant]

Most of the stuff I can do now is really geared more towards entire sites (like the XML stuff) and isn't really useful in a 'just a forum' setup. I mean really, since there is only so much space in here to have infoboxes, the amount of stuff I can create is more limited, its just not practical to have 50 boxes when there is no way you could ever turn them all on.

Now on a normal site, they can work like they do on my work site now, where they can float to the left and kinda join in with the toolbar (which is a dhtml menu that is pretty neat), or float on the right and cause the news articles/editorial/strategy/whatever the hell is over there to indent in, just like a floating image does. Its actually a really neat setup, and allows for way more stuff to be added (I've got three on the left and one on the right of the Intranet, with room on both sides still, the boxes are narrower though).

Of course the major difference is that on the intranet *I* decide which boxes are visible where. But that wouldn't be tremendously hard to get around, since it'd just need different logic to figure out where to put them.

The same problem kinda goes for some other stuff I want to do, it just doesn't fit in the context of how things are setup here right now, and its all more geared towards being a section of a site (like the new DM archive and the V:TM information site that Azriel and I want to do)

blah. Gotta get a webserver and a T1. That'll solve all these problems.
(ok... gotta get money, t1, webserver, in that order)
