If I'm not mistaken, in rRaminrodts story, the ship got back to Earth, and the crew was in a helicopter or something under MM's forcefield, with Edge trying to contact Sashie unsuccessfully (apparently Tatiana was blocking or intercepting the signal).

Of course, I haven't read it in a while, so that could be mistaken... but I'm pretty sure they did get back.
