Question: Is it better to abide by the rules until they're changed or help speed the change by breaking them?

breaking up the company won't solve much.

I mean they broke up At&T and where did we end up, several smaller monopolies that have recently been reforming into one large one again, and shareholders who got even richer out of the whole thing.

We'll still have a windows monopoly, breaking up MS won't change that.

What it will do is screw up one of the most successful companies int he country, which is kind of silly. What they should do is put them under a form of regulation, force parts of the OS to be opened up so that independant developers have a more level playing field with MS internal developers when making programs to run on Windows. And of course, not let them integrate anything they want to.

Maybe an actual definition of "OS" would be nice, so then we'd know exactly what can and can not be included. But thats not very likely.

No... I'm in favor of fines and opening up code so people can better compete without unfair disadvantages, I'm not in favor of breaking up the company.
