I used to write code that way too :).
Mind you, I've had several years to nail down a coding style that works, and now I don't deviate from it. The one I use for webpages now is "include everything." If I use it twice, it gets thrown into a seperate file and included, with a copy of that code thrown in the CodeBank for later. Which reminds me, I have some dialog code that needs to be generalized and thrown in the CodeBank. Woohoo, something to do!
