If you put something like zonealarm on your laptop it'd let you play on b.net just fine, since it doesn't NAT the packets, it just filters and stuff. You could give Starcraft the "access the internet" and "act as a server" rights, and it'd work normally.
although if you get NAT'd somewhere else along the way (like on your linux box) then you'd still have the same problem. I don't remember if you use your laptop directly or use the linux box to dial in anymore.
